The short answer

Bybit has 2 official ways after sign-up. Within 14 days, a main account with no affiliate or referrer can add an affiliate code on the Account Info page; it can't be changed later. Under the affiliate terms effective 2 Nov 2026, accounts registered since 1 Sep 2025 that trade under US$1 in any 180 consecutive days can rebind via a new affiliate link by trading again. Bybit decides who qualifies.

Suits

  • People who forgot to enter an invitation code when signing up for Bybit and are still within 14 days
  • People who haven't used Bybit for a long time and want to know whether their referral relationship could be replaced

Doesn't suit

  • People who signed up more than 14 days ago and still use their account: there is no official way to rebind
  • People living in the European Economic Area or Australia: Bybit's affiliate terms don't allow referring residents of these regions

What would change this verdict

  • Bybit changes the deadline for adding a code or the inactive-user rule
  • Bybit redesigns the Account Info page and the entrance moves

Disclosure: this page contains exchange invitation links and codes. If you sign up through them, the exchange may pay Jason Finance a referral commission. Bybit’s rebinding rules in one sentence: you can’t change an invitation code that’s already bound, but Bybit has 2 official ways: adding an affiliate code within 14 days of sign-up, and rebinding an account that has been inactive for a long time.

One thing first: this site’s Bybit invitation code has no fee rebate; what it offers is Bybit’s official sign-up rewards (see “Bybit referral code”). This article covers Bybit’s official rules, and the conditions and steps are the same whichever affiliate code you want to bind.

This article is a summary of information, not investment advice. The rules come from Bybit’s help center and its Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions (effective 2 November 2026), checked on 4 November 2026. Bybit changes its rules and pages, so go by the page as it is when you act.

Way 1: add an affiliate code within 14 days of sign-up

Bybit’s “How to Add and Check Registered Affiliate Code” says: “Bybit now supports users to manually add the invitation code within 14 days after registration to join the Affiliate’s community.” The conditions:

  • “Only the Main Account is allowed to add the invitation code manually.”
  • “This feature is only open to accounts with no registered Affiliate or referral code within 14 days after registration. Any request to add an invitation code after 14 days will not be accepted.”
  • Only Affiliate Program codes can be added: “Referral code provided by other Bybit users (Referral Program) is not supported.”
  • “Your account must currently not be registered under any Affiliate or referrer.”
  • “Your account may be unable to join the Affiliate community you entered due to regulatory reasons.” Market maker and institutional accounts aren’t supported.
  • “Once the Affiliate code is added, you will not be able to cancel or change the registered invitation code.”

Steps:

  1. Log in to Bybit and go to your Account page.
  2. On the “Account Info” tab, click “Join an Affiliate’s Community”. If you don’t see this entrance, you don’t meet the conditions above.
  3. In the form, enter the affiliate code and your reason for adding it, acknowledge the disclaimer and submit.
  4. If it works, you’re taken back to the Account Info page. You can check the bound affiliate code on the same page later (Bybit notes that some affiliates’ IDs may not be visible because of privacy settings).

Way 2: rebind an account that has been inactive for 180 days

Section 7.7 of Bybit’s Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions (effective 2 November 2026) says, in summary:

  • Who counts as inactive: users who registered with Bybit on or after 1 September 2025 and traded less than US$1 (or the equivalent) in any 180 consecutive days after registering.
  • How rebinding works: “Inactive Users may be reactivated through any Channel.” If you access Bybit through a new affiliate’s link and resume trading, your account is rebound to that affiliate, and the original referral relationship no longer applies.
  • If the account is reactivated directly through Bybit’s official channels: within 180 days of reactivation, you can log in to your account dashboard and enter an affiliate code manually to bind the account to that affiliate again.
  • Bybit reserves the right to modify or terminate this rule at any time.

Accounts registered before 1 September 2025 aren’t covered by this rule. Bybit’s Affiliate Program FAQ only says: “If an affiliated user does not execute any trades for a continuous period of one hundred and eighty (180) days, the affiliate relationship may be terminated.” It doesn’t say how to rebind after that.

Whether an account counts as inactive is Bybit’s call, and users can’t check it themselves. If you want to try this way, open the new affiliate link in a browser, log in and then trade, rather than opening the app directly.

The other way round: could your referral relationship be replaced?

The same rule also shows the reverse: if your account keeps trading, its referral relationship won’t be replaced for inactivity. An account registered from September 2025 onward isn’t an Inactive User as long as its trading volume reaches US$1 or more in every 180 consecutive days.

Common claims online that Bybit’s official pages don’t support

What people say online What Bybit’s official pages say
You can add a code at any time Only within 14 days of sign-up, and only an affiliate code
A regular user’s referral code can be added too “Referral code provided by other Bybit users (Referral Program) is not supported”; the Referral Program FAQ also answers a forgotten referral code with “Unfortunately, no.”
You can change it after adding it “Once the Affiliate code is added, you will not be able to cancel or change” it
Add someone on LINE or contact support and they’ll rebind it for you You can only submit the request yourself on the Account Info page; Bybit has no channel for support to do it for you
Just sign up again with a new email That isn’t an official Bybit way to rebind, and the help center describes no such method

If neither way works for you

To lower your Bybit fees, the more practical options are USDC trading pairs, the MNT discount, limit orders and VIP levels, covered in “Bybit fees”.

If family members or friends were already planning to open a Bybit account, they can sign up with this site’s invitation code in their own name and for their own use, and get Bybit’s official sign-up rewards. Please don’t use someone else’s identity to open an account for yourself.

Bybit is an international exchange. The invitation code and link in the box below come from data synced daily. Sign up with this site’s invitation code and you get Bybit’s official sign-up rewards:

This site’s invitation code is not for UK or Hong Kong residents, and Bybit’s affiliate terms don’t allow referring residents of the European Economic Area or Australia. Please follow the laws where you live. For other exchanges’ official rules on adding or changing a code after sign-up, see “How to change your OKX referral code” and “How to change or add a Binance referral code”. Whether other exchanges let you add a code after sign-up, and for how long, is covered in “Adding a referral code after sign-up”.

FAQ

Can I still add a Bybit referral code after signing up?

Yes, but only for 14 days. Bybit's "How to Add and Check Registered Affiliate Code" says that within 14 days of sign-up, from the main account and with no affiliate or referrer bound yet, you can add an affiliate code under "Join an Affiliate's Community" on the Account Info page. A regular user's referral code can't be added.

Can I change my Bybit referral code?

Not one that's already bound: Bybit says that once an affiliate code is added, you "will not be able to cancel or change" it. The exception is the inactive-user rule in Bybit's affiliate terms (effective 2 November 2026): accounts registered on or after 1 September 2025 that trade less than US$1 in any 180 consecutive days may be rebound through another channel.

What happens if I don't trade on Bybit for 180 days?

According to Bybit's Affiliate Program FAQ, if a user doesn't trade for 180 consecutive days, the affiliate relationship may be terminated. The affiliate terms add that accounts registered on or after 1 September 2025 with less than US$1 in trading volume over 180 days are Inactive Users; if they come in through another affiliate's link and resume trading, they are rebound to the new affiliate.

Can I change my Bybit referral code by contacting support or signing up again?

Bybit has no such official channel. You can only add a code yourself on the Account Info page within 14 days of sign-up. Claims online such as "add me on LINE and I'll rebind it for you" or "sign up again with a new email" aren't official Bybit methods.
