The short answer
A Binance account with a referrer can't switch, not even via support or by closing and re-registering. Accounts that never had one have 3 official ways: under 30 days old, no deposit or trade: self-bind on the binding page; over 90 days old, unused for 90 days: log in via an affiliate's new link; with trading history: submit a Rebind Application (US$150,000 volume in 30 days, subject to review).
Suits
- People who forgot to enter an invitation code when signing up for Binance and want to add one for the fee rebate
- People who haven't used Binance for a long time and want to start again
- People who have seen claims online like "ask support to change it" or "close your account and sign up again" and want to know whether they're true
Doesn't suit
- People whose Binance account already has a referrer: the referral relationship can't be changed or removed
- People living in Hong Kong, the UK, Singapore, the US or the European Economic Area: this site's invitation code does not apply, and Hong Kong residents and accounts registered in the EEA also get no rebates
What would change this verdict
- Binance changes the conditions for binding, recall or rebinding
- The binding page's URL or layout is redesigned
Disclosure: this page contains exchange invitation links and codes. If you sign up through them, the exchange may pay Jason Finance a referral commission. It does not raise the fees you pay; the invitation fee rebate is set by the exchange. Our ratings follow the published methodology, where the invitation rebate counts only toward the fees item.
Binance’s rebinding rule in one sentence: an account that already has a referrer can’t switch. Question 6 of Binance’s “Frequently Asked Questions on Binance Referral Pro Mode” says: “No, once the referral relationship has been established, it cannot be changed or removed.”
But if your account has never had a referrer, for example because you forgot to enter an invitation code when you signed up, Binance has 3 official ways to add one, based on how long ago you registered and whether you have trading history. What you read online is a mess: some say you need to contact support, some say close your account and sign up again after 35 or 180 days, some say Binance has no way to add a code at all, and the thresholds quoted range from 30 to 90 to 180 days. This article follows only the text of Binance’s official help center and of the binding page itself, with a source for every point.
This article is a summary of information, not investment advice. The rules come from FAQs in Binance’s help center, and the binding page text was recorded from Binance’s pages on 1 November 2026. Binance changes its rules and pages, so go by the page as it is when you act.
Before you start: on 29 October 2026, about US$6.3 billion was stolen from Binance’s hot wallets, and withdrawals have been resuming in stages since 1 November. For what happened and how compensation is going, see “Binance hack”.
Step 1: check whether your account has a referrer
Every rebinding rule depends on this, so check it first:
- Referral page: Binance’s “How to Use the Binance Affiliate Referral Pro Dashboard?” says the “Referral Relationship” on the referral page shows how your account was invited, including the referral mode and the rebate rate linked to your account. On the website it’s under “Profile” → “Referral”; in the app, it’s “Referral” on the home screen.
- Messages on the binding page: open the binding page from Way 1 below. If your account already has a referrer, the page says “You are ineligible for referral binding because your account already has an existing referral relationship” or “You already have a referral relationship”.
If you have a referrer, stop here: Binance has no official way to switch. If you don’t, read on.
Under Binance’s official rules, there is no way to rebind an account that already has a referrer. If family members or friends were already planning to open a Binance account, they can sign up with this site’s invitation code in their own name and for their own use, and get a 20% trading fee rebate. Please don’t use someone else’s identity to open an account for yourself: Binance’s “How to Complete Identity Verification for a Personal Account?” says “You cannot transfer your account to another person or substitute another person’s ID for your ID”, and accounts that break the rules may be frozen.
Choose a way based on your account
| Way | Which accounts | Main conditions | Where to do it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Bind it yourself | Registered within 30 days | No deposit or trade yet; parent account; identity details not used on another account in the past 180 days | Enter the invitation code on the binding page |
| 2. Recall of existing users | Registered more than 90 days ago, never had a referrer | No trading or use of any product in the past 90 days | Log in through an affiliate’s new invitation link |
| 3. Rebind Application | Has trading history, no referrer | Identity verification completed; parent account; trading volume below US$5,000 in the past 90 days | Submit an application on the binding page and reach US$150,000 in trading volume within 30 days |
For all three ways, the inviter’s code must be a Binance Referral Pro or Affiliate invitation code. This site’s Binance invitation code is an Affiliate invitation code, so it works with all three.
Way 1: within 30 days of sign-up, bind it yourself on the binding page
Question 4 of the Referral Pro FAQ: if you forgot to enter a Referral Pro invitation code when signing up, you can add it on Binance’s binding page, but only if you meet all of these conditions:
- Your identity details have not been used on another account in the past 180 days;
- The account has no referral relationship;
- It is a parent account, not a sub-account;
- It was registered within the past 30 days;
- The account has no deposit or trading activity;
- It is not flagged for wash trading.
Where the binding page is: there is no fixed entry in Binance’s menus; the official FAQ links straight to the URL: binance.com/en/activity/referral/bind-ref. If you aren’t logged in, the page only asks you to log in first, so log in to your Binance account before opening it.
Here is this site’s invitation code. Tap “Copy” and paste it into the binding page:
JASONFINSteps (based on the text of Binance’s page on 1 November 2026):
- Log in to Binance and open the binding page. If your account qualifies, the page title is “Bind Referral Pro Code”, with a single “Bind Referral Code” field.
- Paste the invitation code. Below the field, the code’s “Spot Rebate Rate” and “Futures Rebate Rate” appear. Check the rates first.
- Tap “Bind”. Once it succeeds, you return to the account overview.
If you don’t qualify, the page explains why:
| Message on the page | What it means |
|---|---|
| You are ineligible for referral binding because you have already completed your first deposit or trade | You have already deposited or traded; see Way 3 |
| You are ineligible for referral binding because you registered more than 30 days ago | More than 30 days have passed; see Way 2 or Way 3 |
| You are ineligible for referral binding because your account already has an existing referral relationship | You already have a referrer and can’t switch |
| You are ineligible for referral binding because you have a previous account | These identity details have been used on another account |
| You are ineligible for referral binding because you are not using a parent account | You are logged in to a sub-account; use the parent account instead |
| Your binding eligibility is being verified because you just completed account verification. Please try again after 12 hours | You just completed identity verification; try again after 12 hours |
| Please enter a Referral Pro code to rebind | You entered a regular user’s Lite invitation code, which this page doesn’t accept |
Way 2: registered more than 90 days ago and unused for the past 90 days, log in through a new invitation link
Binance’s “FAQ on Affiliates Recall Program: Earn Commissions by Inviting Existing Users” (updated 24 March 2026) says affiliates can invite existing accounts that meet all of these conditions:
- The user has already registered a Binance account;
- The account has never been bound to any inviter;
- The account was registered more than 90 days ago;
- In the past 90 days, the account has not done any trading or used any products on Binance.
This threshold changed from 180 days to 90 days on 24 March 2026. Sources that say “180 days” mostly predate the change.
How to do it: open an affiliate’s new invitation link, in the format binance.com/join?ref= followed by the invitation code. On the sign-up page, choose “Log In” and log in to your Binance account; when a confirmation window pops up, tap “Bind Now” and the binding takes effect. This site’s invitation link uses the new format, so qualifying accounts can simply open my invitation link.
Three things to note:
- You must use the new link: Binance says the original invitation link and QR code can only invite new users, and “Currently, binding the referral relationship with existing users through a referral code is not supported”, so entering an invitation code on the binding page can’t replace this step.
- It’s still in testing: Binance says this feature may vary by region and is not available everywhere.
- You have to judge for yourself whether you qualify: Binance offers no page to check eligibility; if you don’t qualify, “Bind Now” won’t pop up after you log in.
Way 3: trading history but no referrer, submit a Rebind Application
Binance’s “Frequently Asked Questions on Affiliates Rebind Feature” (28 September 2026) is for accounts that already have trading history but have never had a referrer. To apply:
- Identity verification is completed;
- The account currently has no referrer;
- You use a parent account, not a sub-account;
- Trading volume in the past 90 days is below US$5,000;
- The account is not flagged for abnormal trading;
- You don’t live in a region where the referral program is not supported.
The application form is at the same URL as Way 1: binance.com/en/activity/referral/bind-ref. The “Rebind Link” in the Affiliate dashboard under “Referrals” → “Rebind Applications” also points to this page. The system shows the form that fits your account; accounts with trading history see the title “Rebind Application”.
Here is this site’s invitation code. Tap “Copy” and paste it into the form:
JASONFINSteps:
- Log in to Binance and open the binding page. The top of the page shows the “Trading target” and the “Evaluation window” (30 days).
- Paste the invitation code into the “Bind Referral Code” field. Below the field, the code’s spot and futures rebate rates appear.
- Tap “Submit Application”. An “Important Notice” pops up: “Don’t change your KYC during the evaluation window. Doing so will invalidate this application.” Confirm to submit.
- After you submit, the same page shows your progress: “Meet the trading target to bind to inviter”, your current trading volume and the time remaining.
How it completes: once you reach US$150,000 in trading volume within 30 days of submitting, the binding is completed that same day. Spot, futures, Convert and other trading volume counts; sub-account volume and zero-fee trading pairs don’t. Binance says applications are subject to review and compliance checks, and “approval is not guaranteed”; to cancel an application, you need to contact Binance Customer Support.
Who this suits: the US$150,000 threshold is not low. At the standard spot fee rate of 0.1%, you would pay about US$150 in fees within 30 days to complete it. If you already trade that much each month, the fee rebate after binding will soon make that back; for people who trade less, this route usually doesn’t work out, and waiting until you qualify for Way 2 is the better option.
If your application doesn’t qualify, the page shows “Ineligible for Rebinding”. Common reasons:
| Message on the page | What it means |
|---|---|
| Complete KYC to start your Rebind Application | You haven’t completed identity verification |
| You already have a referral relationship | You already have a referrer and can’t switch |
| Your past trading activity exceeds the program limit | Trading volume in the past 90 days is above US$5,000 |
| You are ineligible for referral rebind as you had a previous account | These identity details have been used on another account |
| You’ve reached the maximum number of Rebind Applications | You have used up your applications |
| This inviter is not eligible for the rebind program | This invitation code can’t be used for rebinding; use another one |
| You already have an active Rebind Application | You already have an application under evaluation |
Question 13 of Binance’s rebind FAQ also says that accounts with more than US$5,000 in trading volume in the past 90 days are not eligible; wait until your volume falls below the threshold before applying.
How to confirm the binding
- “Referral Relationship” on the referral page: it shows the referral mode and the rebate rate linked to your account. An account bound with this site’s invitation code should show 20%.
- USDC credited to your Spot Account: the Referral Pro FAQ says rebates are calculated hourly, converted to USDC and deposited into your Spot Account within 6 hours. Records older than 7 days can only be seen by downloading the details.
Common claims online that Binance’s official pages don’t support
| What people say online | What Binance’s official pages say |
|---|---|
| Contact support and you can change your referrer | A referral relationship “cannot be changed or removed” once it has been established; in the rebinding process, support only cancels applications |
| Close your account, wait 35 days (or 180 days), then sign up again with the same identity details | Questions 7 and 8 of the Referral Pro FAQ: the system identifies a duplicate identity, and the user gets no rebates. “How to Close My Binance Account?” also says that after closing an account, identity verification may be blocked for 30 days or longer; it says nothing about “35 days” |
| Binance has no way to add a code; once you’ve signed up, you can’t enter one | There are 3 official ways, but only for accounts that have never had a referrer |
| Existing users have to be inactive for 180 days to be recalled | It changed to 90 days on 24 March 2026 |
| First message a certain “support agent” to “get rebinding info” | The official process is that you enter the invitation code on the binding page yourself, or use a link from an affiliate; there is no third-party support step |
| Rebinding only takes 150,000 USDT in trading | The official threshold is “150,000 USD (or equivalent)”, and applications are reviewed, with no guarantee of approval |
Before you bind: check the invitation code’s rate
The binding page shows the invitation code’s spot and futures rebate rates; check them before you tap Bind. Once bound, you can’t switch, so the rate matters. Many Binance invitation codes advertised online at “20%” or “40%” actually come with a lower rate, or even 0%. The results of the 58 I checked, and how to verify a code yourself, are in “Binance invitation code”.
Binance is an international exchange. The invitation code, link and rate in the box below come from data synced daily. Use this site’s invitation code and you get a 20% trading fee rebate, the same for futures and spot:
Where it doesn’t apply: under Binance’s rules, if the invitee is a Hong Kong resident, no rebates are generated; from 1 July 2026, users registered in the European Economic Area can’t take part in the referral program; and referral rewards for UK users have been removed (“Binance Referral Program - Additional Notes”). This site’s invitation code is not for UK or Hong Kong residents. Please follow the laws where you live.
If you already have a referrer and can’t switch, the only ways left to lower your fees are VIP tiers and paying fees with BNB, covered in the “Binance review”. OKX works differently: even an account that already has a referrer has official ways to rebind, see “How to change your OKX referral code”. Whether other exchanges let you add a code after sign-up, and for how long, is covered in “Adding a referral code after sign-up”.
FAQ
Can I change my Binance invitation code?
Not if your account already has a referrer. Binance's Referral Pro Mode FAQ says: "No, once the referral relationship has been established, it cannot be changed or removed." Only accounts that have never had a referrer can bind one, using Binance's 3 official ways.
I forgot to enter an invitation code when I signed up for Binance. Can I still add one?
Yes, depending on your account: within 30 days of sign-up and before any deposit or trade, you can bind it yourself on Binance's binding page; if you registered more than 90 days ago and haven't used the account in the past 90 days, you can log in through an affiliate's new invitation link to bind; if you have trading history, you can submit a Rebind Application, but you need US$150,000 in trading volume within 30 days.
Where is Binance's page for adding an invitation code?
There is no fixed entry in Binance's menus. The official FAQ links straight to binance.com/activity/referral/bind-ref, and you need to log in first. Depending on your account, the page shows one of two forms: "Bind Referral Pro Code" or "Rebind Application".
Can Binance support change my referrer?
No. Binance's official help pages offer no such service, and a referral relationship can't be changed or removed once it is established. In the rebinding process, support's only role is to cancel an application you have already submitted.
Can I close my Binance account and sign up again to change the invitation code?
Not recommended. Binance says that if you close an account and open a new one with a different referral relationship using the same identity details, the system identifies it as a duplicate identity, and the user gets no rebates. After closing an account, verifying your identity again may be blocked for 30 days or longer.
