Privacy policy

This policy explains how Jason Finance (jason-finance.com, in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English and Spanish; “this site”) handles your personal data. This site is run personally by Jason.

1. When you only browse

• You do not need to sign in or provide any personal data to read this site.
• This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic, such as which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, device type and approximate region, to learn which content is useful to readers. Google Analytics advertising features are turned off, and this data is not used for advertising.
• If you don’t want to be counted by Google Analytics, you can install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or block cookies in your browser.
• This site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver the site and protect it from attacks, Cloudflare processes the technical data a connection requires, such as IP address, browser type and time of visit.

2. When you sign in with Google to comment

• This site never shows your name, email or profile picture publicly. Only the random nickname appears next to your comments, and it cannot be changed, so nobody can pose as the site or as someone else.
• Every comment is reviewed by an admin before it is published. Comments with common scam signs, such as links, messaging-app handles or phone numbers, are flagged automatically for separate review.

3. Bot protection

When you submit a comment, this site uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you are not an automated program. Turnstile processes signals from your browser and device; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.

4. Cookies and browser storage

• Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_4X4FDCCL9N in your browser to tell visitors and visits apart; they last up to 2 years.
• After you sign in, your browser stores your sign-in state so you do not have to sign in every time. Signing out clears it.
• Cloudflare may set cookies that are necessary for security.

5. Third-party services and where data is stored

When these services are used, your data may be transferred to and processed outside Taiwan.

6. How long data is kept

• Google Analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months.
• Accounts and comments are kept until you ask for them to be deleted.
• The database is backed up daily and backups are deleted automatically after 30 days, so after your data is deleted it may remain in backups for up to 30 days.
• Accounts and comments identified as scams or abuse may be kept on record to prevent repeat abuse.

7. Your rights

Under Article 3 of Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act, you may, regarding your personal data:

1. Make an inquiry or request to review it
2. Request a copy
3. Request supplements or corrections
4. Request that its collection, processing or use be stopped
5. Request its deletion

To exercise these rights, or to delete your account and comments, email contact@jason-career.com with your request and the Google account email you signed in with. We will act on it after confirming your identity.

8. External and invitation links

Articles on this site may contain links and invitation links to third-party sites. When you follow them you leave this site, and that site’s own privacy policy and cookie rules apply; this site has no control over them.

9. Minors

If you are under 18, please use the comment feature only with the consent of your legal guardian.

10. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the update date at the top of this page will change. Significant changes will also be announced on the site.
